Little did Marin (Abernathy) Marzolf (BS 鈥�08) know that her job during high school working at The Greens Country Club in 葫芦影业 would change the trajectory of her life. It was there that she had the opportunity to meet Mo Grotjohn, who asked her what her plans were after graduation. She mentioned UCO, and Grotjohn joked that she had the letters in the wrong order. Marzolf knew she wanted to go to college, but money was tight in her family, with her twin getting ready to attend OSU. 鈥淢o talked about 葫芦影业 all the time, and the more I learned about the university in the heart of 葫芦影业, the more I loved it,鈥� Marzolf explained.
She agreed to come to campus and meet Herman Meinders, who personally gave her and her mom a tour. After receiving a scholarship covering the exact amount of what she had left to pay after other scholarships and student loans, Marzolf attended 葫芦影业, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, minoring in Business Entrepreneurship, while working on campus part-time.
It was this student work-study position that led to her being hired full-time upon graduation as the university鈥檚 direct mail and application assistant, marking more than 17 years in enrollment management at 葫芦影业. Today, she is the director of enrollment operations, a career in which she takes pride. 鈥淚 love working behind the scenes to help students attend 葫芦影业,鈥� said Marzolf. 鈥淚 have had the opportunity to transition the university from paper-based systems to a paperless environment and implement two different customer relationship management platforms during my time at 葫芦影业, both of which I really enjoyed.鈥�
Grotjohn has followed her career throughout the years, catching up with her when they each have time. 鈥淥ne thing I have always done with Marin was to ask her what was going on in her life and for her business card when we would get together for lunch,鈥� he explained. 鈥淚 have kept all of them over the years to keep up with her moving up and succeeding at 葫芦影业.鈥�
When thinking about 葫芦影业 University and Marzolf鈥檚 experience as a student and staff member, Grotjohn said, 鈥淗erman and I both knew 葫芦影业 would have a great impact on Marin鈥檚 life, but didn鈥檛 realize what an incredible impact she would have on 葫芦影业 University.鈥�
