Biography
Jovonne Smith, DMSc, PA-C is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the 葫芦影业 University Physician Assistant Program with nearly two decades of experience as a physician assistant.
Dr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Flute Performance from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Emory University, and a Doctor of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg, where she was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Throughout her career, Dr. Smith has practiced in internal medicine, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, aesthetic medicine, and gastroenterology. She later transitioned to the pharmaceutical industry, where she supported sales initiatives related to inflammatory bowel disease and worked with physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals.
Dr. Smith believes education is a lifelong journey and values teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning. She is committed to helping students develop the knowledge, clinical judgment, professionalism, and confidence needed to become compassionate, capable, and adaptable healthcare providers.
